20% Of The Vehicles We Now Sell Are Electric Vehicles

The world is changing, and we're changing with it.

Apparently, so are you.

A major change in government policy in Prince Edward Island has made the prospect of owning an electric vehicle so much more attainable. Islanders – lots and lots of Islanders – are taking advantage of up to $10,000 in combined federal/provincial rebates on new electric vehicles and $5,000 in provincial rebates on pre-owned electric vehicles. In fact, 1 out of every 5 vehicles sold at Centennial Nissan of Charlottetown in July were electric vehicles.

21% to be precise. It's a milestone we're excited to share.

That includes everything from new and certified pre-owned Nissan Leafs to pre-owned EVs from a variety of manufacturers. We now have unprecedented access to pre-owned electric vehicles, whether it's a Tesla Model 3 (or a variety of Tesla Model 3s, to be honest) or 2022 Mini Electric Cooper SE. PEI's position in the EV market is unique in North America thanks to the hefty pre-owned incentive, which even includes a free Level 2 home charger. (View our entire pre-owned EV collection here.)

Plus, we make it easy. All of the paperwork for both federal and provincial rebates is handled in store, and the discounts are applied directly at the point of sale. (Learn more about the EV rebate system on our EV FAQs page.)

When the modern electric car market was initiated a decade ago, typical car buyers did not foresee a day in which EVs would be very affordable. Nor did anyone anticipate that the government would pay for such a significant portion of your purchase. Nor did people suspect that EVs would offer the kind of range that would allow you to easily drive hundreds of kilometres on a simple tank charge of a battery that costs only a few dollars.

But the world is changing. At Centennial Nissan of Charlottetown, we're dedicated to being a part of that change by maintaining strong EV inventory so that Islanders who want an electric vehicle can get an electric vehicle. We have new electric vehicles arriving daily.

How Many Kilometres Of Range Are Available In The All-New Third-Generation 2026 Nissan Leaf?

For the 2026 model year, the all-new third-generation Nissan Leaf has undergone a complete reengineering. This isn't just a re-think, it's a radical transformation.
