2023 Nissan Leaf Debuts With Sleek Styling And Simplified Lineup
June 15 2022, Centennial Nissan
There’s no getting around it. Between climate change and fuel prices, more and more people are making the change to charge. In fact, the International Energy Agency reports that last year, “electric car sales more than doubled to 6.6 million, representing close to 9% of the global car market and more than tripling their market share from two years earlier.” Our federal government is even shifting gears to accelerate their Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program, setting a mandatory target for all new light-duty cars and passenger trucks to be zero-emission by 2035 (previously 2040).
So whether you’re trying to be more environmentally conscious, or you’re ready to dump the pump and save on fuel costs, it seems going green has become inevitable. Luckily for you, the timing to do so has never been better. Between the federal and provincial government rebates, you could save up to $10,750 on your EV! And what better vehicle to go green in than the latest edition of the original mass-market EV?
On sale this summer, the 2023 Nissan Leaf debuts a revised exterior design and a more streamlined model lineup to deliver the most sought-after features and tech at maximum value. The new Leaf lineup will include three trim levels - SV, SV PLUS, and SL PLUS, dropping the previously offered S Plus grade.
On the exterior, the Leaf receives a sleek and polished update, featuring a new front grille, bumper molding, and headlights, while Nissan’s updated badging is illuminated to highlight the brand’s new design identity. Tire deflectors at all four corners, rear under diffuser, and rear spoiler have all been modified for better aerodynamics, while aggressive new 5-spoke 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels keep you glued to the road.
The 2023 Nissan Leaf’s performance and specs remain relatively unchanged - the SV grade is equipped with a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery and 110-kW electric motor that delivers 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, with the SV PLUS and SL PLUS models receiving a larger-capacity 60-kWh lithium-ion battery and a powerful 160-kW electric motor, capable of producing 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. NRCan range estimates haven’t been released yet, but the range distances are expected to be similar to the 2022 Nissan Leaf.
Stay tuned as more information becomes available ahead of the 2023 Nissan Leaf’s summer release!
